Junius R. Hughes

  • Junius R. Hughes, Jr. is a storyteller shaped by two worlds: the Brooklyn streets that raised him and the newsrooms, studios, and edit bays that refined him. His career began with WNPR and CPTV before leading to CBS Newspath, ABC News, and ESPN, where he contributed to Emmy- and Peabody-winning coverage as part of award-winning production teams.

    Long before he worked behind the camera, Hughes stood in front of one—as a child model, commercial actor, theater performer, and young saxophonist learning rhythm, emotion, and timing. Those early experiences stayed with him. He later worked in radio, including as a co-host on New York’s iconic sports station WFAN, sharpening the voice and instincts that would become central to his storytelling style.

    Over the years, Hughes has produced news content for World News This Morning and Good Morning America, directed internationally filmed documentaries in South Africa, and earned recognition for Excellence in Documentary Filmmaking. His acclaimed documentary Children of Fire, featuring the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu, remains available for free on YouTube—reflecting his belief that stories meant to heal should remain accessible.

    A filmmaker, producer, editor, educator, and chaplain, Hughes blends academic discipline with lived experience and hard-earned editorial instinct. Through One Cor Productions, he has committed himself to stories rooted in honesty, legacy, and humanity. As an Adjunct Instructor at colleges and universities across Connecticut and Massachusetts, he has taught students that storytelling is not merely a craft—it is a responsibility.

    His years in chaplaincy add a quiet emotional depth to his work, grounding even the most cinematic moments in something deeply human. He is the proud father of six daughters and one son, including acclaimed journalist and writer Jazmine Hughes—a reminder that storytelling runs strong through the family line.

    In his spare time, Hughes is pursuing his Ph.D. while continuing to write and develop film and television projects late into the night.

    Today, he lives a peaceful single life in Williamsburg, Virginia with Chance, his dog, and Reena, his cat, drawing inspiration from memory, humor, faith, and the beautiful chaos of family life.

    His latest project, Just Us, is more than a television series—it is a love letter to fatherhood, perseverance, and the complicated beauty of showing up for the people you love.

Based in Montreal, Canada, she champions authentic storytelling and believes that selling art should never mean selling out. Through her producing and consulting practice, Jaylene advocates for safe, inclusive, and sustainable creative spaces where both art and artists can thrive. Just Us embodies her belief that art has the power to heal, challenge, and remind us who we are to one another.  

  • Channing Estell is a dedicated production coordinator with experience supporting dynamic teams across various companies. She has managed cross-department communication, streamlined workflows, organized scheduling and credentials, and assisted in the execution of major productions, ranging from film productions to network television.

    With a bachelor’s degree from the Los Angeles Film School, Channing is passionate about uplifting the people she works with. She thrives on creating structure, solving problems, and supporting her teams so they can do their best work. Known for her reliability, empathy, and collaborative spirit, she brings both heart and efficiency to every project she touches.
